We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as Head of Counselling on our Senior Campus starting 20 July 2026. 

Located on the beautiful Hibiscus Coast of Auckland, KingsWay is a high achieving, growing, state integrated Christian school catering for Year 1-13 students, with a current roll of over 2000 students. Our work is inspired by love/aroha, heartened by faith/whakapono in Jesus Christ, and motivated by gospel hope/tūmanako. Our Christian special character is an integral part of our pastoral care service, and the successful candidate is expected to support this.   

About the job

This is a value-add role for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about leading a small, collaborative counselling team in supporting student wellbeing. This is a permanent, full-time role during school term time only. 

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience in effectively leading a team of counsellors


• Proven ability to counsel children and adolescents from a Christian perspective


• Great relationship and communication skills who can build effective counselling relationships with students, their whanau, staff & external agencies to foster wellbeing


• An existing supervisory relationship


• A degree in counselling


• Either provisional or full membership with NZCCA or NZAC
