Are you looking to build your skills as an information management specialist in a professional environment?

This newly-established role is an exciting opportunity to work for New Zealand’s leading large law firm, while building your skills in a unique role that combines both knowledge management and document management.

About the role:

The role is focused on ensuring our Partners and staff have access to the knowledge and information they need to do their jobs effectively. This includes maintaining the processes to record and share our knowledge and expertise, and making information accessible and actionable for staff. This is a fantastic opportunity to add value to our information management by combining knowledge management and document management into a streamlined approach.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Championing, advocating for, and facilitating the effective use of knowledge and document management systems
  • Curation and classification of content, and management of repositories
  • Liaison and relationship management with practice areas and key stakeholders around their KM requirements
  • Adding value by providing advice on best practice and efficient usage of systems
  • Provision of feedback and involvement in the delivery of process improvements and system enhancements

Required Experience & Attributes:

  • Qualification / partial qualification in librarianship, information management, or a related discipline, e.g. MLIS/MIM
  • Experience in knowledge management and document management systems or content management systems and software preferred
  • Background in, or understanding of, legal or corporate information desirable
  • Energetic self-starter with accountability and ownership
  • Solution-oriented and proactive
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Organised and responsive
