Mō te tūnga | About the role


 


As a Kupu Whakatau (Supported Resolutions) Trainer, you will deliver impactful training that strengthens Police capability to work effectively with Māori and our diverse communities. You will design and deliver engaging learning experiences, support quality assurance, and build strong partnerships across Police and with iwi and community providers. This is a dynamic role where your mahi directly contributes to safer communities and improved policing outcomes


 


 


Key Accountabilities:



  • Deliver supported resolutions training across Police and with Te Pae Oranga Providers using varied methods (kanohi ki te kanohi and online)

  • Design and improve training approaches that engage and influence staff

  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and Te Pae Oranga Providers to enhance delivery and outcomes.

  • Ability to deliver engaging training and communicate effectively with diverse audiences

  • Function in a kaupapa Māori and a Police environment.

  • Contribute to the design, development and delivery of training, training plans, programme related projects or initiatives.

  • Train, facilitate, and coach others to improve mindset, practices and adapt to a change environment and communicate changes effectively

  • Critical thinking and sound judgement in dynamic environments

  • Understanding of Māori, Pacific and Ethnic communities and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi

  • Experience in coaching, mentoring or adult learning

  • Current CPK at the rank of the vacancy you are applying for (Constabulary only).

  • For both Constabulary & Police Employees:  

    • Agree to enrol in a leadership programme at the advertised level, at a future date or

    • Have qualified under CEP or a previous Career Progression Framework at the level you are applying for.

Utu ā-tau | Salary


 


This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $102,808 and $108,894 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
