About the role | Mō te tūranga: 
We are currently offering an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a permanent, full-time Technician to join our Food Chemistry team based in the Dunedin laboratory. This is a permanent, full-time position of 80 hours per fortnight.

We are looking for someone to facilitate effective and efficient performance in the department by working collaboratively with the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation, extraction and analysis of samples in accordance with documented procedures


• Ensure timely turnaround of results while upholding quality and technical standards.


• Contribute to quality control, operational improvements, and efficiency initiatives within the team.


• Participation in daily cleaning and housekeeping activities

To be successful in this role you need to have:

• The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines.


• A team focus with initiative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and possess the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.


• Eligibility to work in New Zealand.


• A degree in science, preferably with a major in food science or chemistry


• Experience working within an IANZ/RLP accredited laboratory would be an advantage


• Flexibility to work additional hours when required
