Job Description - Lead Mechanical Engineer

Fabrum develops and deploys end-to-end hydrogen solutions globally. Fabrum also has a strong presence in the cryogenic markets for liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen, and liquid natural gas. Our global customer base spans transport, mining, hi-tech research institutions, military, healthcare and manufacturing.

Fabrum completed a successful financing round in 2023, attracting $23M in funding from high profile global investors. We are also part of a newly formed Hydrogen Consortium, which includes Airbus and Air New Zealand, to pioneer the commercial deployment of green hydrogen-powered aircraft.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Lead Mechanical Engineer at Fabrum will play a key role in our development of best practice systems and processes, helping to lead the team and drive innovation. You will have the opportunity to: 

  • Develop cutting-edge solutions for world-leading projects, including hydrogen refueling stations and liquefiers
  • Help develop best practice systems and processes, and drive a continuous improvement culture
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance, and troubleshooting support to resolve complex engineering problems
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations throughout the design and manufacturing processes
  • Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering their professional growth and contributing to a collaborative team environment

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree (or higher studies) 
  • 7+ years of relevant experience 
  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks 
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. 
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and regions, and proactively interact with Project Managers, discipline engineers and designers to deliver successful outcomes.

EXPOSURE A BENEFIT

  • Process engineering experience (oil & gas or similar).
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Working knowledge of international design standards ASME B31.3, ASME B31.12, AS1210 and associated AS/NZS and international reference standards
