About you

Due to ongoing growth, we are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer with a wealth of experience. You will have the ability to independently execute projects as well as lead and oversee the development of a growing team of engineers.

As well as being highly proficient in mechanical engineering (specifically pressure equipment design, fitness for service, industrial or pipeline design/integrity) you will have the leadership skills to match. You will be the mechanical engineering focal point for many projects and be expected to effectively lead others in your discipline.

There are high expectations of the role, but this won’t bother you as your history of experience will have you in good stead.

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer , capable of working with a close-knit team of engineers, designers and project professionals to deliver projects to Verbrec’s standards. As a professional engineer you will offer:

  • Minimum 10 years’ mechanical engineering experience, with recent experience in a consultancy
  • Diverse and competent range of mechanical engineering skills, including pressure equipment, rotating equipment, tanks, integrity or pipelines
  • The experience and confidence to manage your own work while leading others in the team across multiple projects
  • The ability to positively engage with clients is a must (you will be an excellent communicator and facilitator)
  • A proven track record of consistent delivery
  • A relentless focus on quality
  • Experience within energy production or generation, upstream facilities, pipelines or complimentary industries
  • Experience using PV Elite, AutoPIPE or your choice of software depending on your experience
  • A balanced commercial sense to generate great proposals, while working collaboratively with clients to understand their needs
  • The ability to mentor and grow less experienced team members, with the desire to see them thrive
  • Degree or equivalent experience/qualification is mandatory
  • CPeng, equivalent recognition or working towards recognition
  • Pipeline design or integrity experience experience is a bonus
