Job Description - Legal Administrator / Secretary

We are looking for an outstanding full-time Legal Administrator to join our Christchurch Corporate team supporting two Partners and a team of busy lawyers. Experience in a legal environment would be beneficial but is not essential. We would love to receive applications from candidates with a strong professional services administrative or PA/EA background.  

Key responsibilities include:

  • Personal Support to the Partners - including calendar, email, meeting management, and time recording.
  • Financial Hygiene - Leading the billing, matter management, client reporting and debtor management processes.
  • Administer the onboarding of new clients and opening of matters incl. supporting the AML process
  • Producing legal and correspondence documents to a high standard within specified time-frames; incl. document management and E-filing
  • Facilitating Chapman Tripp's client relationships and business development through the use of tools/systems;

Relevant skills and experience required:

  • Previous experience as a legal secretary or personal assistant
  • High self-motivation and positive team player
  • Excellent written and verbal skills; and strong attention to detail
  • Pro-active forward-thinking approach
  • Organised and able to juggle multiple tasks at the same time
  • Experience / confidence in using new systems and tools
  • Confident in the use of Windows applications – Outlook, Sharepoint, Word
  • Calm and composed under pressure
