Lift Service and Repair Technician

Permanent full-time role

Located in Ngauranga, Wellington

$33-$35 per hour

 

The Company

Cremer Lifts, is a successful New Zealand owned business with a clear growth strategy. We specialize in importing, installing, modernizing, and servicing a diverse range of lifts, catering to the unique needs of both residential and commercial construction projects. 

 

The Opportunity

Our Service Team has experienced considerable growth over the last seven years and a new position has been created for an additional Service Technician in our Wellington office. We service and repair of a variety of lifts, and the role will require an enthusiasm to contribute to the customer-focused team culture, as well as a desire to solve problems and fix things.

This role is very dynamic, so mechanical capabilities along with electrical are a big advantage. A minimum of two years’ work expereince of lift servicing and repair is essential to be successful in this role.

 

About You

  • Physically fit and able
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ideally you will have applicable or suitable Elevator or electrical experience that can be utelised in the lift industry or a relevant trade certificate.
  • Enjoy problem solving
  • Patient and calm demeanour
  • A willingness to learn detailed product knowledge of the lifts sold by Cremer Lifts Ltd
  • Willingness to gain an understanding of lift codes pertinent to each product, and ability to source specific knowledge in need
  • Ability to read lift drawings and building plans 
  • Understanding of onsite requirements for our varied customers
  • Proficiency in collaborative approach and strong team-working skills
  • Attention to detail
  • New Zealand driver’s license or equivalent

The Role

  • Typical working hours of 7:30am to 4pm.
  • Overtime paid when necessary.
  • Phone. 
  • Service vehicle.
  • Remuneration will be set in line with your abilities, effort, and success.

Major Activities

  • Review shop drawings and architectural plans
  • Primarily repairing and servicing a wide variety of vertical transportation equipment
  • When required aiding installation of a wide variety of vertical transportation equipment
  • Wiring and commissioning of lifts
  • Adhering to manufacturers' specifications and manuals.
  • Removal of existing vertical transportation equipment
  • Observation of building and lift codes
  • Communication with customers and colleagues
  • Remedying defects and or faults
  • Being available for on-call duties
