Job Description - Line Mechanic

Our Auckland team is looking for an experienced Line Mechanic to join them and workon the construction of overhead electrical lines to customer and Networkrequirements.
The role
Reporting to the Supervisor, your safety and that of others around you is yournumber one priority in this role. The work is varied, and you’ll be an integral part of a field-based team undertaking theconstruction and maintenance of electrical lines to customer, Network andNorthpower requirements. You'll also:
- Assist with work plans and ensure that relevant field paperwork is completedas necessary
- Install and replace electricity network pole structure and overheadconductors
- Ensure the reliability of reconductoring the network
- Assist with Overhead to Underground conversions
- Ensure all work meets required quality and safety standards
- Complete tasks within set time frames in an efficient and professional manner

About you
You’ll be working on a variety of exciting projects and may have to do someoccasional weekend work. You will have a natural flair in building and maintaining effective customer relations, be aself-motivator and take initiative where needed . To be successful in thisrole, you will have:
- NZ Certificate or overseas qualification equivalent to Level 4 (required towork on the Vector Network) or relevant trade trainings
- Current NZ EWRB Practicing licence (Line Mechanic) is essential
- At least two years’ solid experience under your belt with knowledge ofelectrical principles
- A valid Class 2 driver’s licence is essential, Current HT Class 4 licence would be an advantage
- Strong safety focus with a consistently excellent record on safety andquality standards
- Physical fitness required to perform at ease
- A great work attitude and comfortable being a part of a diverse team in a multiculturalenvironment
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Enjoy working in teamenvironments and willing to step up for the team as required, also able to workself-directed, under minimum supervision
