• Permeant Full-time Position (80-hour fortnight roster, Monday to Sunday) 


• Starting hourly rate between $30.42- $34.76 (Based on qualifications & experience) 

Position Description  

He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the Role: 

We are seeking a Locomotive Service Person to join our Locomotive Servicing team based at our Palmerston Noth depot. 

This is a practical, hands-on role where you will be responsible for servicing locomotives and completing minor repairs. You’ll play a key role in delivering reliable, high-quality outcomes that meet our safety and performance standards. 

Working alongside a skilled and supportive team, you will contribute to KiwiRail’s continued investment in the future of rail. 

What you’ll be doing: 

• Service locomotives and shunts 


• Use tools and machinery to complete mechanical tasks 


• Troubleshoot and resolve locomotive issues 


• Follow health and safety procedures at all times 


• Build your skills through on-the-job training
