Loss Prevention (Security) Officer - The Warehouse, Whakatane

The Warehouse in Whakatāne, New Zealand, is seeking a professional and vigilant Loss Prevention (Security) Officer to join our team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our customers and staff while preventing theft and minimising losses.

• Monitor store premises using surveillance systems and regular patrols
• Identify and apprehend shoplifters in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
• Conduct investigations into suspicious activities and prepare detailed incident reports
• Collaborate with store management to implement and improve loss prevention strategies
• Assist in training staff on security procedures and loss prevention techniques
• Respond promptly to security alerts and emergency situations
• Maintain a visible presence to deter potential criminal activity
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

This is a permanent full-time position with the following hours of work:

• Sunday to Wednesday: 10:30am to 8pm

• Competent Computer skills.
• Proficiency in operating surveillance systems and security equipment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Physical fitness to perform the duties of the role
• First aid certification (desirable)
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
