About Us:
At Griffin's Snacks, we proudly produce many much-loved kiwi brands, including Griffin’s, ETA, Nice & Natural and Huntley & Palmers. Here at our Wiri plant, we produce a wide range of snack bars and salty snacks including the legendary Snackachangi potato chips!
We're looking for Machine Operators to join us in permanent roles on the following shift pattern:- Rotating Shift: Week One 5:45am – 2:00pm then Week Two 1:45pm – 10:00pm (rotating weekly) Note: you MUST work both Week 1 and Week 2. Availability for some 4am starts for training is desirable.
These are all full-time roles Monday to Friday, based at our Wiri plant on Ash Road which operates 24 hours/5 days a week.
In this role you’ll be:- Working across a range of snacks, chips and bars food processing lines.
- Taking ownership to operate high speed food manufacturing machinery - including carrying out machine set ups, changeovers, troubleshooting and adjustments, cleaning and manual packing as required.
- Accurately completing and recording quality checks
- Following standard operating procedures to produce quality products everyday
- Following Health and Safety and Food Safety best practices
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and learning the IWS ways of working
What we’re looking for? - At least 1 years' experience in machine operation - including machine set-up, operation and troubleshooting. Experience with Vertical Form Fill and Seal (VFFS), Fryers, Enrobers or Corn/Snacks/Chips/Bar food processing lines would be an advantage.
- Mechanical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make good decisions within tight timeframes
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Operations or any Food related fields is desirable.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic
- Physically fit - you're happy to be in a role that has you on your feet and safely able to lift up to 25kgs
- Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
- Confidence in using technology (PLC Screens and iPads)
- Passionate about Health & Safety and Food Safety
