About the business

Having operated successfully in the Middle East for over 10 years, Texel Air has expanded its operations into New Zealand and Australia. Our NZ operation is well established and boasts an impressive On-Time Performance rate. Our Australian operations have just begun with the first aircraft now operating out of our Brisbane base.

By mid-2024 another three B737 NG Boeing Converted Freighters will enter our fleet – and more growth will come after that!

About the role

Along with excellent, well-maintained aircraft, we also need excellent people, to keep them flying safely. We need team members who thrive in a dynamic environment, who approach challenges with innovative solutions, who understand the importance to our clients of schedule integrity and who can deliver service that consistently exceeds expectations.

The purpose of this role will be for you to ensure we maximise aircraft availability, by coordinating all inputs and stakeholders, ensuring minimum disruption and performance of required maintenance, while ensuring a safe and airworthy operation.

You will be required to liaise closely with maintenance providers to ensure all planned maintenance is performed, to monitor and manage AOG situations and to clear deferred defects. You will also assist with troubleshooting aircraft defects in conjunction with the maintenance provider and keep key stakeholders informed.

About you

To be considered for this role, you’ll need:

  1. Ten (10) years of certifying experience as a Licensed Engineer in Line or Base Maintenance.
  2. Three (3) Years’ experience on the 737NG series in a Line Maintenance or MCC environment.
  3. CAA NZ Part 43, Part 91, Part 121 and Part 145 requirements. CASA and FAA regulatory knowledge would also be beneficial.
  4. Experience with maintenance planning processes in an aircraft maintenance organisation and/or airline environment.
  5. Good working knowledge of Technical Log/E-log and MEL processes.
  6. Good working knowledge of Safety Management Systems.
  7. Excellent working knowledge of My Boeing Fleet applications and manuals.
  8. Good working knowledge of MS Office suite of applications.

You will be required to work shift work, be contactable outside normal office hours and weekends if required and be willing to travel within Australia, New Zealand and internationally from time to time.

This role will take full advantage of your great communication skills and ability to build great relationships at all levels. While needing a high level of drive and initiative you will also have that balance of technical skills combined with a pragmatic hands-on approach.  In return, you’ll join a supportive family-focused organisation with a competitive salary package.

If you are a seasoned aircraft maintenance control centre engineer with a passion for cargo operations, or maybe just looking for a change, we’d love to hear from you.
