Maintenance Engineer

Located in Mt Maunganui, Florentines is an outstanding production food manufacturer with an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer who would like to be involved in production improvement projects, daily maintenance, and continuous improvements.

We are looking for someone who can play a pivotal role in helping to improve the company automation strategy while also helping with the engineering requirements of a busy food manufacturer.   We are striving to become a world-class manufacturing organisation.   

We have an established management team so you would be working alongside our current Chief Engineer, Production Managers, Technology, NPD, Quality Control and Planning Manager.

The role is varied and challenging but will be hugely rewarding for the right person.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in:

• Working with our in-house Cheif Engineer to improve in-line food manufacturing procedures
• Troubleshooting machinery breakdowns
• Responding to daily operational needs.
• Scheduling routine machine maintenance in alignment with our production plan.
• Implementing production and value add continuous improvements to processes and machines.
• Providing relevant feedback or reports to management on all areas of our plant including performance, downtime, and quality.  

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

• A New Zealand citizen or person with a New Zealand work visa. 
• Mechanical / process engineering, or equivalent experience in a processing plant.
• Ability to utilise and adapt available resources effectively to solve problems.
• Ability to innovate by bringing new ideas and enabling others to be innovative and successful in implementing ideas.

 We would also like candidates to have the following skills;

• Be able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced workplace.
• Be physically fit 
• Have forklift experience would be helpful
• Have a good eye for detail.
• Have a positive attitude, good people skills & be a Team Player.
