Job Description - Maintenance Manager

My Food Bag is New Zealand's longest standing meal kit provider and is a well-loved and successful New Zealand brand.  Each week My Food Bag delivers thousands of bags full of nutritious, locally sourced ingredients along with easy-to-follow recipes direct to families across New Zealand, taking the stress out of mealtimes and bringing people together. 

We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to join our high performing Operations Team. This role will be responsible to ensure the day to day running of the My Food Bag Operations by ensuring the continued smooth running of machinery and automated systems that support the operational processes. 

Using a range of engineering and technical skills this is a hands-on position that requires someone who can communicate, manage and work with a reactive and proactive work ethic.  You will work across our Auckland site and give direction to our Christchurch production site. You will have 1 direct report who oversees our night shift maintenance. 

ABOUT THE ROLE
Key Responsibilities:

  • To work and communicate with key internal stakeholders to ensure maintenance strategies satisfy business demands 
  • To manage site contractors to ensure that all work is completed in a safe and acceptable manner and that known hazards are controlled. 
  • Assist with improving machinery guarding and safety 
  • Ensure operational equipment has a preventative schedule and is completed as per schedule
  • To have regular contact with other sites across My Food Bag, sharing best practice methods, identifying risk & opportunities to improve. 
  • Review Contractor and Suppliers performance annually against agreements to assess performance against agreements, and to modify any agreements as necessary.
  • Work with Suppliers to establish service level agreements as required.
  • Constantly review processes to generate a continuous improvement plan 
  • Apply best practice continuous improvement methods to enhance manufacturing reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Work collaboratively with operations regarding the design and layout of the lines and workspaces to ensure efficiency. 
  • Assist the process improvement project manager in the delivery of capital and process improvement projects, and outcomes.
  • Manage spending and budget to ensure that we are maximising efficiency 

About YOU!

  • 2-5 years in an operational/technical Role
  • Experience working in a time-critical operational environment
  • Experience as a dual trade mechanical and electrical engineer preferable 
  • Strong knowledge of both physical and technical systems and how they operate
  • People management experience
