LyLo is a brand new look and feel hotel in the heart of Auckland City. Our next generation hotel features a new and unique pod design, ensuite rooms, double rooms (with shared facilities), communal kitchen, Miss Lucy's bar and restaurant, as well as co-working and co-living spaces. About the role

  • Take direction from the Rooms Division Manager and/or General Manager as well as maintaining a proactive approach. 
  • Assist the General Manger in developing a routine and non-routine Repairs and Maintenance (R&M) budget for the financial year. 
  • Control departmental expenses within set targets and notify the General Manager of any potential over budget expenditure within the department. 
  • Follow, update and enforce the hotel policies, procedures, guidelines and manuals to ensure compliance, safety and profitability. 
  • Develop and enforce procedures, guidelines and training resources to ensure equipment are used and maintained correctly by all team members. 
  • Manage repairs and maintenance with the aim to avoid major interruption to Event’s business. 
  • Manage all contractual obligations so that plant and equipment is serviced and maintained in an optimal operational status. 
  • Maintain BWOF (Building Warrant of Fitness) and Compliant Schedules. 
  • Maintain and schedule fire damper register. 
  • Develop and enforce routine maintenance checklists. 
  • Review maintenance logs regularly to identify ways to reduce repetitive maintenance. 
  • Actively seek and implement ways to increase team morale, team development and service levels in order to ultimately achieve overall better results. 
  • Accurately record, track and review training and development within the department. 
  • Respond to and carry out all inter departmental or guest requests concerning defects, repairs and / or general assistance in a timely manner, according to priority. When defects or repairs are outside your capabilities, communicate this to the Maintenance Manager in a timely manner. 
  • General duties may include, but is not limited to cleaning, painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, sanitation stations etc. Maintenance Manager Key Roles & Responsibilities 
  • Preventative duties may include, but is not limited to paint touch ups, checking card reader batteries, cleaning air con filters, ensuring that electrical appliances are in working order and safe to use, checking alarm systems are working correctly, testing fire dampers etc. 
  • Maintain the Maintenance Management System accurately. 
  • Give assistance and support to other departments and/or colleagues when needed. 
  • Be a brand ambassador for the hotel as well as Event Hospitality & Entertainment. 
  • Attend all scheduled meetings. 
  • Participate in scheduled training and development programs.
