Job Description - Maintenance Team Leader - Rapid Progression

The Opportunity:
This role is based in beautiful Nelson, as a Maintenance Team Leader, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager. In this role, you'll lead maintenance operations while overseeing a team of technicians. Your impact will be pivotal in driving continuous improvement initiatives, optimising business outcomes, and propelling the fishing industry to new heights. Key Responsibilities:
As the Maintenance Team Leader, you will:
  • Implement and oversee preventative and condition-based maintenance strategies.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all maintenance activities for efficient tracking and analysis.
  • Supervise external service providers to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Maximise equipment uptime and support seamless processing operations.
  • Uphold a culture of safety and compliance across all maintenance endeavours.
  • Strategically plan maintenance schedules to enhance production efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards in all maintenance operations.
Who We're Looking For:
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with small to medium-sized teams.
  • Proficiency in budget administration.
  • A Trade Qualification, preferably in Fitting and Turning with a minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance within a food production environment.
  • Experience in Planned and Preventative Maintenance processes.
  • Experience using CMMS systems an advantage.
  • Expertise in repairing and maintaining automated processing and packaging equipment.
  • Proven track record of meeting defined targets through effective team management.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work autonomously.
  • A self-motivated approach with a focus on delivering exceptional results.
