About the role:  

We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our Finance Team based at our Central Dunedin office. We believe the role would be best suited to a candidate with management as well as financial accounting experience.

The focus of this role is on the preparation of financial information for a range of stakeholders; the Senior Management Team, the Board of Directors, Investors, Banks, Tax authorities in multiple jurisdictions etc.  The duties can include the following:

 

  • Analyse financial information to assist business profitability and growth
  • Assist in preparation of Annual Consolidated Financial Statements
  • Undertake financial analysis and planning
  • Provide accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making
  • Produce month-end and year-end journals
  • Prepare monthly group statutory and management accounts
  • Contribute to annual budgeting and planning process
  • Manage capital expenditure
  • Produce financial statements including P&L accounts, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations
  • Provide mentorship to the wider Finance Team
  • Review accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations
  • Assist in the annual external audit process
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations

 

You would be working within a global team, spread between London and Dunedin. You will report to the Finance Manager who is based in Dunedin and provide direct support to the London-based CFO as required.

 

About you:  

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience post qualification (CAANZ, CIMA, ACCA, ACA or similar)
  • Experience in End of Month reporting for multiple entities
  • Are energetic and motivated; willing to assist cross-functional teams as required to "get the job done"
  • Come prepared and willing to work across the various roles in the Finance Team when required
  • Communicate effectively, able to cut through and present financial data with succinct written commentary and analysis to non-financial managers
  • Possess great time management skills
  • Show discipline and can follow set procedures whilst also taking initiative
  • Take pride in the quality of your work, with demonstrated detail focus
  • Can work on the big tasks as well as the monotonous
  • An effective team player and able to create a great working relationship with other staff in both the Finance team and throughout the wider business
  • Strong Microsoft Office user skills
