The successful candidate will be part of a transformational customer operations team, reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Procurement Operations. This is a short term contract available immediately and with an end date approx mid September.

What you'll do:

As the Manager - Procurement Operations, you will play a pivotal role in managing a team of contract specialists and commercial professionals, ensuring effective and robust workflow across the business. You will be responsible for maintaining a robust pipeline and workflow process, managing contract databases, and fostering positive engagement with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Your role will also involve mentoring contract and procurement operations Specialists, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring customer satisfaction at all levels.

  • Manage and mentor a team of procurement operations specialists to ensure efficient and compliant procurement processes.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader Procurement team to manage requests through the procurement life-cycle.
  • Ensure contracts are registered in the database in accordance with Regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and systems.
  • Engage business stakeholders at all levels to understand and prioritise business needs.
  • Ensure compliance of all contracts related activities with outsourcing and other government regulations.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience from a procurement or commercial background within large organisations. You have demonstrated your ability to manage teams effectively across multiple categories or portfolios.

Your strong stakeholder management skills enable you to influence decisions and manage competing demands efficiently. With your understanding of category management methodologies and disciplines, you are adept at leading teams within procurement or commercial services functions.

  • Minimum of 5+ years in a procurement or commercial role in a large organisation.
  • Demonstrable management experience of procurement professionals managing multiple categories or portfolios.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with proven ability to influence.
  • Experience managing competing demands and organising projects or programs of work.
  • Understanding and application of category management methodology and disciplines.
  • Experience leading a team in a procurement or commercial services function.

This position is only available to candidates with NZ working permissions.
