Job Description - Manufacturing Technician

About the business

 

Loadscan develops and manufactures innovative measurement technology for automated measurement of truck load volumes in a variety of settings such as civil construction and mining internationally. The Manufacturing Technician will be responsible for assisting in the manufacturing of the Load Volume Scanner systems and its components.

About the role

  • Test products or subassemblies for functionality and quality
  • Troubleshoot electrical, software and hardware related problems with equipment, devices or products
  • Disconnection and reconnection of 230-volt equipment
  • Installation of software/programme/configurations in computers, message board and lasers (Cloning of CVS and LVS computers and configuring lasers)
  • Manufacturing of electrical power cable and network cables as per manufacturing documentation
  • Maintain stock levels
  • Set up and operate machinery safely
  • Assist engineers in developing, building and testing prototypes or new products
  • Build packaging for finished products
  • Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications
  • Keep production logs
  • Package finished products 
  • Clean production equipment and work areas
  • Installations and site repair of systems as required.  This may involve short term national and international travel (when able)
  • Fill out company documentation so that invoices can be generated for work completed.
  • Maintain QA documentation for repairs and service.
  • Maintain a high level of workmanship in all product support repairs.
  • Comply with customer site rules and regulations when working out onsite.
  • Use appropriate workplace Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
  • Lead and comply with the requirements of the Health & Safety in Employment Act 1992 and associated company policies.
  • Demonstrate work practices that ensure safety for self and others.
  • Hazards are identified, control plans documented, and hazards eliminated, minimised or isolated.
  • Pick up and deliver stock items from local suppliers as required. (HT Class 2 Licence would be a great advantage)

Skills and experience

 

  • Relevant industry experience (preferably electrical) in product assembly and servicing.
  • Able to operate machinery such as power tools safely
  • Able to follow procedure with high level of workmanship and quality
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Confident personality.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Able to manage conflict and competing tensions.
