Marine Service Technician

R Marine Flagship is a market leader in the NZ Marine Industry offering clients a range of new Riviera luxury motor yachts, a full on water brokerage sales facility and an extensive service facility.   

We are looking for a qualified Marine Service Technician to join our friendly, professional and energetic team.  Be part of our Riviera Family!

The applicant will need to be accustomed to working in the white boat industry and have that, ‘keen attention to detail’ mentality required to maintain a large fleet of 10 to 30-meter luxury yachts for our owners. 

Main Role:
• Carry out engineering duties as requested by the service team coordinator
• Use appropriate tools for testing and fault finding and rectification work
• Routine engine servicing and maintenance on a variety of modern marine engines
• Fault diagnosis, troubleshooting and repairs on all marine system throughout the vessel 
• Hands on work in the workshop and remotely at the boat location as required
• Check your work to ensure quality standards are met and report problems and fix as required
• Installation work (Seakeeper Gyro’s and Blue Water watermakers)

Qualifications and Experience: 
• Trade Qualified as Marine Technician
• Experience in servicing, troubleshooting and repairing marine propulsion systems and generators
• Electrical wiring, troubleshooting & repairing, electrics & accessories
• Confident with parts identification 
•  Preference will be given to people who have done sea time, have a clean driver’s license and able to drive manual transmission vehicle.

• Methodical and disciplined approach to work
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and hand written reporting
• Have a clean and tidy appearance 

Working Hours - 40 hours per week between 7.30am and 4pm weekdays. Overtime may be required from time to time.
