Marketing Assistant - Parental Leave Cover

Farro, Auckland's inspirational and quality food market, is looking for a creative, enthusiastic and organised Marketing Assistant to join our Marketing team on a fixed-term basis to cover parental leave! 

Based at our Grey Lynn Support Office, this exciting and varied role is perfect for someone looking to grow their marketing career in a fun, fast-paced environment. 

Working closely with our Marketing and Ecommerce teams, you'll help bring Farro's campaigns to life across email, social media, in-store promotions and events. From creating engaging content plans to coordinating delicious food experiences, you'll play an important part in inspiring our customers and showcasing the incredible products and suppliers that make Farro special. 

About the Role 

Reporting to our Content and Production Editor, you'll support the planning and delivery of marketing activities that drive customer engagement, inspire food discovery and bring the Farro brand to life. 

Here's a taste of what you'll be doing: 

• Content Planning: Supporting the development and management of content calendars across email, social media and in-store marketing activities. 

• Email Marketing: Building, scheduling and coordinating engaging email campaigns, ensuring content is accurate, on-brand and delivered on time. 

• Social Media: Planning, coordinating and publishing creative social media content, including reels, carousels and promotional campaigns. 

• Events: Plan and organise various Farro events, including our Night Markets, seasonal showcases, in-store tastings, masterclasses, and The Auckland Foodshow.


• Supplier Relationships: Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to achieve paid advertising placement targets, and co-ordinate product content and marketing activities.


• Campaign Support: Collaborating with our design team to ensure marketing materials are engaging, consistent and delivered to a high standard. 

• Performance & Reporting: Monitoring campaign performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting marketing budgets and reporting. 

About You 

We're looking for someone who is creative, proactive and loves working with people. You'll enjoy juggling multiple projects, have a sharp eye for detail and bring plenty of enthusiasm to everything you do. 

Ideally, you'll bring: 

• A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications or a related field would be ideal. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines. 

• A creative mindset with an eye for engaging, on-brand content. 

• Confidence working collaboratively with different teams, suppliers and stakeholders. 

• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a positive can-do attitude. 

• A passion for food, marketing and creating memorable customer experiences! 

Experience with email marketing, social media content or event coordination would be a bonus.
