Role Overview:
The Marketing Lead is an intermediate to senior level operations role, responsible for the strategy, systems, and hands-on execution of growth for our two core business verticals: Work-for-Hire / Co-development (WFH) and Original IP (OIP). You will be responsible for five content domains: websites and digital presence, social media, online game communities, marketing collateral, and paid acquisition. Across all of them, you will set the strategy, build the systems, and drive the execution, while working closely with production, art, audio, and business development to bring campaigns to life.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Planning:
- Lead the top-level marketing strategy across both WFH and OIP business lines, with distinct goals, audiences, and KPIs for each.
- Develop comprehensive launch playbooks for our OIP titles, from pre-announcement through post-launch, including channel selection, timing, and success metrics.
- Conduct ongoing market research to define and refine target audiences for each business line and title. Translate these audience insights into platform-specific goals and messaging briefs, working directly with project and product teams to ensure marketing strategy is embedded early and maintained throughout development.
- Set and manage the marketing budget across platforms and campaigns, allocating spend dynamically based on performance data.
- Maintain a forward-looking content calendar that coordinates activity across all channels and both business tracks.
Websites & Online Digital Presence
- Own the CerebralFix corporate website, including strategy, content hierarchy, portfolio pages, and regular updates. Ensure it effectively serves both prospective WFH clients and industry stakeholders.
- Lead the creation and maintenance of dedicated landing pages for our games, coordinating with production and art on assets and messaging.
- Apply SEO best practices across web and store properties to maximise organic reach.
Social Media
- Manage the CerebralFix brand social presence (separate from individual game channels) across LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and Instagram, with a focus on raising the studio's profile with prospective WFH clients and industry peers.
- Design and execute platform-specific social strategies for TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, X, and Reddit. Define content pillars, posting cadence, and tone of voice for each title.
- Manage owned communication channels to build direct audience relationships independent of platform algorithms.
Online Game Communities
- Own the strategy and day-to-day management of player communities across Discord, Reddit, and other relevant platforms for our games.
- Develop and maintain community management guidelines, moderation policies, and escalation processes.
Branding, Collateral, & Corporate Marketing
- Maintain the overall CerebralFix brand strategy and visual identity, ensuring consistency and alignment across all communications and assets.
- Own the creation and maintenance of all work-for-hire sales and marketing materials, including pitch decks, capability statements, case studies, showreels, and corporate presentations. Ensure these are kept current and reflect the studio's evolving portfolio and credentials.
- Develop and manage press kits, review code programmes, embargoes, and media outreach for OIP launches. Build and maintain relationships with games journalists, content creators, and industry media.
- Coordinate CerebralFix's participation in key industry events (GDC, PAX, trade shows), including booth presence, speaking opportunities, and networking collateral. Manage any associated PR activity.
Paid Acquisition & Performance Marketing
- Configure and manage end-to-end ad campaigns on TikTok Ads, YouTube Ads, Reddit Ads, and Meta Ads.
- Execute granular targeting of gamers, continuous creative testing, and optimization of cost-per-player.
- Track and improve conversion funnels to ensure efficient player acquisition.
- Explore and test emerging paid channels relevant to the studio's titles and audiences.
- Own the marketing data stack: monitor cost per player, engagement, and retention metrics.
- Identify which platforms convert best and pivot spending dynamically based on performance data.
- Provide regular reporting to the COO and management team on campaign performance and studio-wide brand growth.
Creator & Influencer Outreach
- Lead the "Creator Economy" strategy, specifically identifying and onboarding TikTok and YouTube creators for our OIP titles.
- Lead the studio's creator economy strategy, identifying, onboarding, and managing TikTok and YouTube creators for Roblox and OIP titles. Negotiate rates, manage contracts, and organise sponsored content. Track individual creator performance to develop a tiered preferred partner network.
- Identify and nurture high-value community members and creator channels that form the foundation of each game's community.
Key Qualifications:
- 5 to 8 years of experience in entertainment marketing, with a track record spanning both strategy and hands-on execution across digital channels.
- Experience in video game marketing is preferred, ideally including at least one full title lifecycle from announcement through post-launch.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain a cohesive brand identity, including visual identity, tone of voice, and consistency across channels.
- Technical proficiency in setting up and optimising paid campaigns across TikTok, YouTube, and Meta.
- Experience managing online communities (Discord, Reddit) and a genuine understanding of what drives player engagement.
- Comfortable owning the full marketing function as a solo operator, executing across all channels while building systems that can scale with a growing team.
- Data-driven mindset, able to interpret analytics and translate them into clear strategic decisions.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience in a B2B or client-facing marketing context, with the ability to position a studio or services offering to prospective clients.
- Existing relationships with games media, journalists, or content creators.
- Experience managing PR outreach, press programmes, or influencer contracts.
- Experience contributing to or managing a marketing budget across multiple platforms.
