Mechanical Engineering Tutor - Unlimited Growth Potential

The role 

NorthTec invites applications for the role of Tutor- Mechanical Engineering to join us on a fixed-term basis through to August 2024. This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) position based at the Future Trades Campus in Whangārei.

As a Tutor, you will provide our ākonga with a high-quality level of learning, and be passionate in passing on your knowledge and skills to enable them to succeed in their studies. Our ideal candidate will be a qualified and experienced Fabricator/ Welder who is passionate about sharing their skills and knowledge in order to deliver first-class training.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:

• A relevant trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• Hold or be willing to work towards an adult teaching qualification
• Relevant Industry experience
• Experience in teaching or training adults
• Excellent communication skills
• Be a team player
• Be well organized with excellent time management skills
• A positive person with a ‘can-do’ approach
• Basic IT and Computer skills
• Willingness to greet and acknowledge people in te reo Māori
• Have a minimum understanding of Māori culture but be active in supporting activities
• Commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi including participation in bi-cultural settings
