The role and its duties

The role is crucial with the precise installation of compressed air plants and associated equipment into industrial/manufacturing and commercial sites. As a Mechanical Fitter/Welder, you'll have the opportunity to engage with state-of-the-art industrial air systems, applying your skills to guarantee accuracy and dependability in manufacturing procedures. From assembly to upkeep, your contributions will be instrumental in maintaining the seamless operation of their facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct required engineering modifications to container, enclosure, and baseplate setups, including cutting, drilling, fabrication/welding and general engineering operations
• Execute precision installation of compressed air plant and equipment with meticulous attention to detail
• Apply practical engineering knowledge and experience to tackle diverse challenges effectively
• Uphold a high standard of accuracy and finish, to meet retail acceptance criteria
• Showcase qualities of a perfectionist, demonstrating unwavering commitment to quality
• Assist with ideas and new design concepts for new product development
• Complete the design ideas using CAD design software, to produce production-ready drawings
• Assist with providing 3-D models for the use of marketing and presentation
• Provide CAD drawings for air piping layout plans for installations
• Take ownership and responsibility for managing component and parts inventory used in packaged new builds
• Operate the manual and digital systems within the business for accurate accountability and package costings
• Report to production management with progress and inventory updates

Requirements

• Current first aid certificate - advantageous
• EWP (Elevated work platform) certificate an advantage
• Fitter/Welder qualification (Level 4)
• CAD drawing and design competencies
• Forklift license
