About the role | Mō te tūranga:

Our Masterton Laboratory located in Wairarapa Hospital is currently seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician for their Core Laboratory. This is a permanent, full-time position of 80 hours per fortnight across a rotating roster.

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

• Registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand, including a current annual practicing certificate.


• A team focus with initiative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and possess the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.


• Excellent attention to detail, with good record keeping skills.


• The ability to work independently, while in a supported role.


• A sound knowledge of laboratory operations (safety, operation of equipment, and hands-on practical experience).


• The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines.
  


• Competency across varying disciplines e.g. Biochemistry, Haematology, Blood Bank and Microbiology would be advantageous.


• Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
