Are you passionate about helping people and creating positive patient experiences? Local Doctors Māngere Town Centre is looking for a friendly, organised, and customer-focused Medical Receptionist to join our General Practice team.

As one of the first people patients interact with, you'll play an important role in creating a welcoming environment while helping ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of our busy medical centre.

About the Role
This is a varied and rewarding position where you'll work closely with GPs, nurses, and the wider practice team to deliver an exceptional patient experience and support the efficient running of the clinic.

What You'll Be Doing
•    Welcoming patients and visitors in a professional and caring manner
•    Managing appointments, cancellations, and patient enquiries
•    Registering patients and maintaining accurate patient information
•    Handling incoming phone calls and coordinating bookings
•    Providing administrative support to clinicians and the wider team
•    Processing payments and managing front desk responsibilities
•    Assisting with general practice administration tasks
•    Helping create a positive, efficient, and patient-focused environment

Hours of Work
•    Monday: 8:00am to 5:00pm
•    Tuesday: Rostered Day Off 
•    Wednesday: 8:00am to 5:00pm
•    Thursday: 8:00am to 5:00pm
•    Friday: 8:00am to 5:00pm
•    Saturday: 8:00am to 2:00pm
•    Sunday: Rostered Day Off

About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people and thrives in a busy healthcare setting.
You'll bring:
•    Excellent communication and customer service skills
•    A warm, approachable, and professional manner
•    Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
•    Confidence using computer systems and learning new technologies
•    The ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
•    Previous administration, reception, or customer service experience

Experience in a medical practice, general practice, or healthcare environment is advantageous but not essential. Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys helping others and contributing positively to a collaborative team.
