Medical Receptionist

About the Company:

Mount Medical Centre is a General Practitioner owned family medicine clinic serving close to 7500 patients. We are situated in downtown Mount Maunganui, walking distance to the beach! You will be a vital member of our reception team of four receptionists who are supported by our wider administration team including our Practice Manager and office assistant. We have a friendly, experienced team of doctors and nurses that will work alongside you and we encourage a professional but social atmosphere whilst providing excellent care to our patients and their whanau. 

About the Role:

A permanent position 4.5 days / week within the hours of 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.

The job is exciting and varied with responsibilities including: 

• Welcoming patients on arrival, responding to any queries and managing work flow 
• Accepting payments from patients and ensuring accurate cashflow 
• Operating the Medtech Evolution Patient Management System
• Scheduling appointments in person and over the phone 
• Responding to enquiries from both patients and wider healthcare providers
• Actioning the patient recall system
• Responding to tasks from the doctor/nurse team directly
• Other administration tasks as required by the position

The successful candidate would ideally have the following skills and experience:
 

• Prior reception experience, ideally within the healthcare sector     
• Familiarity with the Medtech Evolution PMS system 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
• A friendly, empathetic nature with a knowledge of professionalism and cultural safety 
• Awareness of patient confidentiality 
• Confidence with computers and phones 
• The ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
