We are a for-purpose, non-profit organisation established in 2010 and governed by a Board of Trustees. The organisation delivers services across the Bay of Plenty and Waikato regions. Our purpose is to provide education and prevention to people, whānau and communities, and to support all people impacted by sexual harm to live their best life through healing.

This is the heart of what we do. We are striving to create a society that is free from sexual harm and violence, and we are supported by a highly skilled team of counsellors, social workers, psychologists, nurses, and doctors who support our clients and their families.

Reporting directly to the Head of Therapeutic Services, the ideal person will possess an excellent balance of leadership initiative, clinical experience, and business acumen. You will thrive on juggling to meet the variety of business demands whilst also leading our talented multi-disciplinary team to deliver best practice and creating an exceptional client experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medical Team Management: Lead and manage the medical team, including nurses, doctors, and on-call forensic medical staff. Ensure adherence to operational procedures and policies.

  • Professional Responsibility: Ensure safe practice based on professional, ethical, and legal standards. Maintain a current practicing certificate and complete mandatory training.
  • Continuous Quality Improvement: Participate in policy development, evaluate medical practice efficiency and safety, and implement innovative solutions.
  • Service Development: Build professional relationships internally and externally. Seek opportunities for service promotion and expansion.
  • Cultural Competency: Respect cultural and ethnic beliefs and customs, demonstrating knowledge and experience of tikanga Māori.

Key Competencies and Qualifications:

  • Current medical competency-based practicing certificate
