About the Company:

National Road Carriers (NRC) is NZ’s largest membership organisation and industry body, representing the freight sector. NRC supports businesses that range from single truck owner-operators right through to large transport companies with hundreds of trucks delivering goods throughout New Zealand.

NRC’s primary purpose is to provide a wide range of support services so our members can get on with delivering the goods.  We negotiate exclusive member-discounts for all sorts of critical services such as fuel, tyres, truck insurance and mobile phones. Our team of industry specialists provide expert advice to members on employment, health and safety, and legal and contract support.

About the Role:

Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, the Member Relationship Specialist is responsible for looking after members to maximise satisfaction, promote engagement, and drive membership and value growth.

An average day will involve talking to existing members and helping them tap into the full suite of services on offer. You’ll also be actively seeking out prospective members and selling the benefits of NRC membership.

Success will be ensuring existing members both feel valued, and get value, from their NRC membership, and new member numbers continue to grow positively.   

About You:

You are someone who has a flair for account management, is super organised with a genuine passion for connecting with people, both in person and over the phone. 

You have good life experience and can build a rapport quickly with people from all walks of life. 

You will be talking to business owners who represent the backbone of the New Zealand economy, they need to feel you understand their business, can help with the challenges and provide tools that will make a real difference to their bottom line. 

You will have a proven track record in sales, membership or account management – let your results speak for themselves. 

You know your way around membership management software databases (we use Zoho CRM) and Microsoft Office Suite, and you’re a team player who is prepared to muck in and support the wider team if they get in a bind.

Knowledge of the road transport industry or complementary sectors including, supply chain, logistics, construction, freight or building would be beneficial but is in no way essential.
