Grand Suites Lake Tekapo is a premier destination offering unparalleled hospitality amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Lake Tekapo. Nestled in the heart of the South Island, our motel is renowned for its exceptional service, comfortable accommodation, and stunning views of the Southern Alps and the turquoise waters of Lake Tekapo.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as a Motel Assistant Manager/Receptionist. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our establishment by providing excellent guest service, managing administrative tasks, and supporting various aspects of motel operations.
This full-time role with a guaranteed 30 hours per week requires weekend work and nights on call. Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for a minimum 2-year commitment. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide accommodation.
Minimum wage is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.
Responsibilities:
1. Guest Relations:
- Greet guests warmly and assist with check-in and check-out procedures.
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Provide information about local attractions, dining options, and activities.
2. Administrative Support:
- Manage reservations, including bookings, modifications, and cancellations.
- Maintain accurate records of guest information, payments, and room assignments.
- Handle cash transactions and maintain a balanced cash drawer.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies as needed.
3.Operations Support:
- Collaborate with housekeeping staff to ensure rooms are cleaned and prepared for guests.
- Assist with maintenance issues and coordinate repairs as necessary.
- Monitor and respond to online reviews and feedback to maintain high guest satisfaction levels.
4. Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other team members to ensure a cohesive and efficient work environment.
- Provide training and support to new staff members as needed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work culture that promotes teamwork and excellence.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or related field preferred but not mandatory
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer systems MS word, excel, outlook and Seekom Booking Reservation system
- Experience in providing staff training
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
