Job Description - National Account Manager - Retail

We have a rare, Auckland based, opportunity to join the successful and market leading Kärcher retail team as lead for the field team
 
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overall responsibility for the sales and profitability of retail channel LKA’s and the sustainable development of retail partners as the key route to market for Kärcher Home & Garden products. 
  • Alignment of Local Key Account (LKA) activity to Kärcher NZ strategies and initiatives delivering budgeted sales and gross margin for each.
  • Development of customer strategies, core and promotional ranging, opportunity gap analysis, NPD launch. Support of customer execution plans.
  • Identify and develop profitable new business within existing customers.
  • Research and report all relevant competitor activities and establish strategies to strengthen Kärcher’s market leading position. 
  • Effective Account Management at Head Office level. 
  • Maintaining LKA specific but Kärcher activity aligned promotional plan.
  • Accrual and trade spend tracking.
  • Support of Retail channel budget planning and monthly rolling forecast. 
  • Category and Business Review preparation, presentation and support. 
  • In conjunction with Financial Analysist, realise insight and from both sell in and customer sell out data.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Nil

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITY

Ensuring sales and profit budgets for the assigned customers are met as agreed with plans in place to achieve the company MRP (mid-range plan)

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • More than 5 years experience in managing National Accounts across core range, promotional activity, joint marketing and executional elements. Preferably in consumer durables or FMCG.
  •  Experience across traditional Bricks and Mortar and Online Channel customers.

 

SKILLS 

  • Ability to successfully persuade and influence others. 
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations. 
  • Strong planning, time management, interpersonal and communication skills is imperative.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Computer proficient – Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Power point and Word.

 

OTHER 

Work requires travel to current and potential clients. The requires the possession of a current driver’s licence.

Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and some overnight travel is required.
