Job Description - National Field Sales Manager

Ready to Lead National Sales at Scale?


Walter & Wild is home to some of New Zealand’s much-loved food brands: Vitasport, Vitafresh, Aunt Betty’s, Hubbards, Gregg's, Hansells, Horleys, Alfa One, Movenpick (NZ & AU) and NZ Natural Ice Cream to name a few. We’re looking for an experienced and energised people leader to join us as our National Field Sales Manager. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of national field execution, build team capability, and make a real impact in market.


About the Role


As National Field Sales Manager, you will lead and develop a high-performing team to deliver best-in-class execution across supermarkets throughout New Zealand. This role sits on the extended leadership team and plays an important role as the voice of the field internally, ensuring frontline insight helps shape decisions and priorities across the business. You will drive clear priorities, strong rhythms of performance, and a culture of accountability, while ensuring the team remains agile and focused within a fast-moving commercial environment.



  • Lead, coach and develop a national field sales team to deliver high standards of in-store execution

  • Drive a disciplined national field plan, clear call cycles, and strong KPI performance

  • Build an energised, accountable and high-performing team culture

  • Partner across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and HR to deliver commercial outcomes

  • Use data, insights and field technology to improve execution quality and business performance


What you will bring:



  • Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to coach, develop and lift team performance

  • High energy, strong personal drive and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, growth-focused environment

  • Strong field sales experience, ideally within FMCG or a similar fast-paced consumer environment

  • Excellent planning, prioritisation and performance management capability

  • Commercial acumen, strong judgement and a hands-on, pragmatic approach

  • A collaborative leadership style and the ability to build strong relationships across the business
