Our Client Our client is a leader in transport and logistics solutions throughout New Zealand. As they embark on exciting transformations to prepare for the future, they are seeking their National Fleet Manager.
Reporting to the exec team, your role will ensure effective fleet management, build capability, and provide strong leadership, focusing on commercial and financial aspects to procure the best value for the business.
The Opportunity As the National Fleet Manager, you will lead a team to ensure assets are appropriately maintained and serviced, minimising downtime. You will develop and execute a lifecycle strategy for assets, optimise efficiency, reduce downtime, and control costs. Managing the Fleet P&L cost centre, you will establish and uphold robust SLAs and KPIs with service providers through regular reviews.
Analysing fleet data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, you will generate regular reports to monitor and report fleet team performance. Building and fostering a team culture of ‘safety first’ and ensuring that responsibilities are met are key aspects of this role.
Key qualities in a leader include a consultative approach with strong communication skills, commercial courage, and strong execution skills. The ability to partner with senior leaders, plan strategically, and make decisions involving multiple stakeholders is essential.
Qualifications and Skills: - Proven experience in large-scale fleet management activities across commercial and compliance activities.
- Tertiary education in logistics, supply-chain management, mechanical, engineering or a similar discipline.
- Strong leadership experience and decision-making capability with experience in leading change activities.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, reporting and statistical measurements.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve targets and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
