Your mission
We are seeking a National Sales Manager New Zealand to drive growth, develop new business opportunities, and establish Vapaus as the leading provider of the Benefit Bike Scheme in New Zealand. This role reports directly to the Country Director and collaborates with the Finland-based marketing team to develop account-based strategies and deliver tailored local campaigns.
You will establish and lead our sales function from the ground up—driving new corporate client acquisition, managing key accounts, and building strong partnerships with leasing and finance providers. You’ll be at the forefront of introducing a proven European employee benefit to New Zealand, tailored to the local market. As part of a dynamic start-up environment, you will also be ready to roll up your sleeves and contribute wherever needed to ensure the company’s success in its early stages.
The role is preferably based in Auckland, but we will also consider Wellington as an option for the right candidate. The successful person must be able to travel across New Zealand as required, and have the flexibility to collaborate with other teams (including marketing team at the start) based in Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the national sales strategy to achieve growth targets.
Lead the design and execution of Account-Based Marketing (ABM) and Account-Based Selling strategies
Build and manage a strong pipeline of B2B opportunities with employers, partners, and government agencies.
Work with clients across all sectors and industries, including SMEs, corporates, SOEs, government, and local government organisations.
Collaborate closely with the Marketing Manager to design and deliver account-based marketing campaigns that drive qualified leads and conversion.
Use LinkedIn Sales Navigator and HubSpot CRM to manage pipeline, track activity, and report performance.
Represent Vapaus to senior decision-makers and C-suite stakeholders, positioning the Benefit Bike Scheme as a high-value, FBT-exempt employee benefit.
Lead and win procurement processes, including tenders and RFPs that showcase the value of the Vapaus model.
Negotiate and close commercial agreements with employers, leasing partners, and other stakeholders.
Report sales performance, forecasts, and market insights to the Country Director and leadership team.
Contribute to building a high-performance sales culture and support the growth of the NZ business.
Identify and influence early trailblazer customers during soft launch, creating reference cases for national expansion.
