The role

Join our Electricity Operations Leadership Team as Switching Manager, heading a new team responsible for planning and coordinating all high voltage switching across Vector’s network.

You’ll establish new systems and processes as we bring switching operations in-house, work closely with field and engineering teams, and play a key role in delivering safe, reliable power for Auckland – every day and during major events.

Who are we looking for?

We envisage you’ll have:

• An electrical engineering qualification/professional certification, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years’ experience in New Zealand high voltage distribution and switching
• Strong leadership skills, with a passion for building and developing teams
• Deep technical knowledge of SCADA systems, switching, operational technologies and safety standards
• Experience with ADMS or similar network management systems
• A proactive, customer-focused approach and a drive for continuous improvement
