The business has been expanding rapidly over recent years, both in NZ and abroad. A driven and passionate project manager, with a food technology background is sought to help the business deliver on their goals. Success will be achieved in the role by the smooth and timely execution of all initiatives. Ideally you'll have experience developing value add, utilising every aspect of the product to maximise returns.
The opportunity
Reporting to the Processing Business Manager you'll be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of product development projects. You'll be able to demonstrate your ability to manage multiple priorities, problem-solve and take on the responsibility for managing a range of tasks. The key focus of the role is to keep all projects on track for both timing and cost.
Broadly, the scope of your role will include, though not be limited to:
- Manage the NPD pipeline to ensure multiple annual rollouts.
- Champion prioritised new products through the stage gate development process.
- Maintain communication across the group and ensure commercially viable projects are taken through to fruition.
- Experience working with a known project management tool/system.

A background in an FMCG or food environment would be a key advantage. It is likely you have a Food Science qualification (or similar) and have experience in Product Development, Food Safety and HSE.
An excellent communicator, and team player with proven interpersonal, influencing and organisational skills, with the ability to use your own initiative with problem-solving and decision-making in order to achieve results. High levels of attention to detail and accuracy are required and you should have a flexible and proactive working attitude towards all cross-business areas.
