We are looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) to provide Diagnostic Positron Emission Tomography (PET).
Your work day will include: - Performing a wide range of diagnostic PET/CT examinations
- Performing high-quality images using current post processing software
- Using high-tech automated systems for tracer and contrast delivery
- Implementation of the ALARA principles in delivering optimal diagnostic images for the lowest possible injected and CT doses
- Performing cannulations, with the option of using ultrasound guidance
- Receipt and documentation of sealed and unsealed radioactive materials
- Monitoring, decontamination, and disposal of radioactive waste as per ORS C2 guidelines
- Undertaking a detailed quality control program which covers the hot lab, tracer injector and PET/CT scanner
- Performing isotope therapy injections under the guidance of a Radiologist and Radiation Oncologist
- Working with a multidisciplinary team to perform examinations under general anesthetic or sedation
- Maintaining a highly effect level of communication with patients, support person(s) and the wider PET/CT team
Knowledge and skills desired: - Competence in conducting a full range of both routine and complex procedures in PETCT.
- Significant degree of initiative and scientific interest.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently.
- Capable of exercising mature judgement in respect of performance, appraisal and allocation of duties.
- Working knowledge of the practical and legislative requirements of a Nuclear Medicine and PETCT practice.
Additional CT Scope of practice is advantageous.
