The role: We are now seeking to appoint an industry professional to fill the key role of Nutrition Sales Specialist, based in Bay of Plenty.
Answering to the New Zealand Commercial Manager, you will represent ADM to our mainly dairy farming customer base within this region, giving advice and technical support around concentrate feeds and animal nutrition products. You will develop a reputation amongst farmers for your high quality, honest business practices. You’ll also assist the Commercial Manager to develop sales and marketing strategies and to build cost models.
Your role will encompass the following parameters: - Maintenance and growth of existing and prospective customers – via phone and on-farm meetings
- Oversight of and support to our customers around their contractual obligations
- Information transfer to our logistics, trading and commercial teams around market activity and trends
- Mentoring and training of team members
- Ongoing upskilling and personal development around emerging dairy farm practices, compliance and animal nutrition requirements
Competencies required to be successful include: - Exposure to and understanding of NZ dairy farm systems
- On farm sales or account management experience
- Strong understanding of animal nutrition requirements
- Understanding of commercial business systems and processes
- Experience mentoring and training less technical team members
- Sound Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel
