The Role

An opportunity has opened in Auckland for an enthusiastic Office Manager to support business operations across our three New Zealand offices by assisting with day-to-day administrative tasks and liaising with our extended team of specialised personal in our Corporate Services Team in Australia that assist with Health & Safety, HR, Marketing, ICT and Financial support.

As a result we are looking for an experienced administrator and organisational superstar who is team-oriented to support our growing business. This is the opportunity for the right candidate to get in and have a significant influence on the culture and success of BG&E in the New Zealand market

What to expect day to day:

  • Build and foster internal relationships and actively cultivate a positive work environment
  • Demonstrate effective communication, competently informing, delegating and coordinating tasks.
  • Contribute to team meetings, preparing agendas, presentations and taking minutes
  • Facilitate inductions for new employees and provide general ongoing support
  • Identify and champion opportunity for improvement
  • Support and/or lead corporate initiatives and projects that support and grow the NZ Business.(Carbon Accreditation, Panel Applications)
  • Engage in all areas of business operations, understanding policies and processes and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure the smooth running of each office, including replenishing office supplies, ordering ICT equipment, allocating parking and coordinating leave applications
  • Monitor health safety registers, carrying out regular office inspections
  • Providing project-based administrative support which varies from fee proposal submissions to producer statements.
  • Organise variety of staff and client events throughout the year.
  • Support the NZ Manager with a variety of tasks and ensure the efficient running of the NZ business.

About you

  • Hold a relevant qualification and /or experience in a similar role.
  • Good interpersonal and time management skills
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering/construction industry operations would be a bonus.
  • Demonstrate competencies in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Be passionate about people, reliable and ability to use discretion
  • Be pro-active, adaptable and able to show initiative in order to get things done.
