About the Role:

GD1 is an established venture capital (VC) investment firm supporting NZ company founders to Believe Bigger and achieve success on the global stage. 

Our current Operations Analyst is heading back to the South Island to start her new family and we are now seeking our next superstar.  Are you keen to get stuck in and support the operations function of an exciting and fast paced investment firm?  Are you looking for a role that covers a wide range of tasks, including fund operations, reporting, compliance, finance, staff support, marketing, events, business admin and more? 

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is an excellent opportunity to add value and support the full back office functionality of GD1.  No prior VC experience is required, however experience in a similar/related role will help you hit the ground running, especially if connected to finance, banking, investment, start-ups or general business support. (Note, this is not an investment team role, although operations do support the investment team).

Most importantly, we are looking for the “right person”, so if in doubt, we encourage you to apply!  We can be flexible on working hours / days, so this role could be full time for someone looking to further their career, or could be a great opportunity for someone re-entering the workforce and looking for part time hours.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Xero – monthly reconciliation and monthly payment process (across a number of finance entities);
  • Managing investor and investment accounts and record keeping;
  • Investor relations, reporting and communications;
  • Travel and event bookings, GD1 hosted events and staff celebrations;
  • General premises and business/office admin;
  • Support GD1’s AML/CFT program as well as all other regulatory & legal compliance;
  • Support of Marketing, including newsletters and social media;
  • ESG data collection and reporting;
  • General team support and more. 

About you:

You have excellent attention to detail across both text and numbers and would rather take your time to get things right, than rush through your work.

You enjoy variety in your role and are happy juggling a number of responsibilities across different areas of the business.  You use time and diary management to stay on track with your varied tasks and can handle shifting priorities as they arise. 

You are keen to join a small team and bring a positive attitude with you, in fact this role prioritises team culture and you will play a big part in celebrating staff and organising our GD1 team events.

Prior Experience:

No prior Venture Capital or investment experience required, however experience in a similar or related role / industry will benefit your application.
