Reporting to the Operations Manager of the recently refurbished Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), the Team Leader will oversee the operations and personnel during the allocated shift, whilst maintaining a safe working and healthy work environment for all employees.

About the role:

  • Support Management and team with key administration and coordination tasks required to run the Materials Recovery Facility
  • Support stock control and inventory records (in conjunction with operations team)
  • Management and administering of other operational admin tasks 
  • Support Logistics Coordinator with freight forwarders and customs agents to guarantee efficient and timely shipments.
  • Input and update maintenance records while also updating staff training records
  • Ensure manual reports are being actioned timely and accurately
  • Financial administration required to support the running and management of the MRF
  • Input and update risk and hazard reporting register through in-house software system 
  • Provide excellent service to internal stakeholders, such as colleagues and supervisors, by being responsive and helpful.
  • Demonstrate a customer-oriented approach when interacting with external stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met effectively and courteously.
  • Manage administration requirements associated with the management of customers 
  • Ad hoc duties as required by the management team

About you:

  • Available to work over a rotating 24-hour roster, Monday to Friday.
  • Previous experience in waste management, recycling, or MRF operations is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment would be an advantageous
  • Established track record of enhancing accuracy and efficiency in warehouse collection and packaging systems. 
  • Have a strong planning & organisation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Take an innovative approach to continuous process improvement
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player who thrives in a busy environment and has good attention to detail
  • Proficiency in computer applications for reporting and documentation.
