Job Description - Operations Engineer

At AROA, our people come to work each day driven by passion and ideas that make a real difference in the lives of others.

Proudly New Zealand born and based, AROA (Māori for understanding) develops, manufactures, and exports innovative wound care products that improve the lives of millions worldwide. Our mission is clear: to be the global leader in regenerative healing and make our solutions accessible to all.

The role

We’re seeking a full-time Operations Engineer to join our Technical Operations team.

In this on-site role, you’ll act as a key engineering liaison between production, development, and quality. On a day-to-day basis, you’ll:

  • Monitor efficiency and performance across production lines.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.

  • Support investigations into quality events.

  • Collaborate on new product transfers from Product Development to Commercial manufacture.

You’ll also play an active role in continuous improvement initiatives—driving solutions that enhance performance, compliance, and patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support on equipment and SME support on Quality Events (CCFs, NCRs, etc.)

  • Troubleshoot issues across manufacturing operations and drive effective design and process solutions.

  • Manage AROA’s commercial labelling process, including creation and updates.

  • Lead and support continuous improvement projects.

  • Prepare and review documentation within AROA’s Quality Management System.

What you’ll bring!

  • An engineering degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Design.

  • 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (medical device or pharmaceutical preferred).

  • Strong technical capability in manufacturing processes and engineering problem-solving.

  • Knowledge of process validation, statistical process control, GMP and GDP requirements.

  • Experience with CAD design (preferably SolidWorks) and statistical analysis is highly desirable.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and results-driven.

What we offer:

  • Birthday leave (your special day off!)

  • Health & wellbeing benefits, including free on-site gym and fitness classes.

  • Free on-site parking and easy motorway access.

  • A diverse, supportive, and inclusive culture where achievements are celebrated.

  • The chance to be part of a mission-led company doing work that’s never been done before.

At AROA, you’ll join a team that works hard, values collaboration, and celebrates success—while contributing to life-changing innovations in regenerative healing.

To be considered for this opportunity you must have existing NZ working rights.
