Auckland Council's Customer and Shared Services (CSS) division has an opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to join the CSS Executive Office team. 
 
This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the Customer and Shared Services Directorate's key priorities and programmes, while driving continuous improvement across the division. 
 
You'll lead strategic initiatives, oversee performance and assurance frameworks, and work closely with senior leaders to ensure the directorate is focused, aligned and delivering outcomes that support Auckland Council's long-term objectives. 


 


You could expect to work on:



•    delivering strategic initiatives and developing transformation strategies across the directorate 
•    leading an integrated and prioritised work programme aligned to Long Term Plan objectives 
•    building strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders 
•    identifying performance improvement opportunities
•    leading directorate-wide performance, reporting and assurance frameworks
•    developing capability uplift initiatives and competency frameworks 
•    championing innovation and continuous improvement 


 


 


He kōrero mōu: About you


 


This role requires a highly experienced operational leader with a strong background in strategy execution, organisational performance, customer-focused service delivery and transformation.  You have led teams within large, complex organisations.


 


We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:


 



  • significant senior-level experience leading operational, strategic, customer, policy or service delivery functions

  • proven success implementing transformation strategies

  • strong analytical and strategic thinking capability

  • ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders

  • experience establishing governance, performance and assurance frameworks

  • understanding of local government environments

  • experience engaging with Maori and supporting treaty-responsive outcomes
