HazChem Services is a growing Business specialising in the disposal of Chemicals across the North Island. You will be a class 4 Truck Driver; this is an exciting opportunity to help manage and grow the Business.

You will be based in Onehunga on site but travel will be required throughout the North Island and your duties will include but not be limited to:

Site Operational Tasks 

• Customer Job Reconciliation - Sorting, weighing and inventorying hazardous wastes in accordance with customer and invoicing requirements from Hazchem.
• Site organisation, cleaning and maintenance – Keep on top of waste processing and site good hygiene practices once and as these are developed and maintained. Specific examples include:
• Keeping main factory clear for receipt and processing of wastes.
• Keeping consolidation units ready for processing, labelled and fit for purpose.
• Keeping rubbish and spill kit locations either empty or stocked as applicable.
• Cleaning and emptying fume hood processing room after each process.
• Ensuring Dangerous Goods are stored in their correct locations.
• Ensuring tools and equipment are stored and returned to their correct locations.
• Processing hazardous wastes per Hazchem Services Risk Assessments and Operating Procedures

Truck and Vehicle Driving and Maintenance 

Customer and Customer Job Management – Managing customer inquiries in coordination with the Hazchem Manager:

• 0800 Number Management 
• Customer emails – response, quoting and filing 
• Generating customer collection paperwork.
• Conducting customer collections with suitable equipment, paperwork, PPE and vehicles.

Site Compliance – Support Hazchem Manager to ensure site operates within compliance parameters for and not limited to Dangerous Goods Storage, Trade Waste Discharge, Auckland Council Requirements, Stormwater and or Air Discharge requirements or consents as applicable.

Management Support - Support Hazchem Manager with site and systems management when required or when Hazchem Manager is absent.

Procedural Support - Support and discuss operating procedures including risk assessments and support with procedure development. Note: There is a framework for these overall procedures and systems which will be used to guide these and the general expectation is support not primary responsibility. The Hazchem Manager will primarily provide structure, procedures and templates and guide compliance-based processes.
