We provide a wrap service from the initial consultation, plan and quantify stage, co-ordination of delivery of product to site, through to onsite support during installation.

Role location

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Operations Manager to join their down to earth and fun team. Whilst our operations are predominantly based in Westport, South Island. This role is ideally for a person who is located in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty - but we are also open to candidates who live outside of Tauranga who are happy to travel to Tauranga, 2-3 times a week for work.

About the role

What we are looking for is an experienced and qualified Operations Manager to organise, manage and direct all operations of our business. The successful applicant will be responsible for strategically improving performance and productivity, to increase the overall profitability of the business while reporting to the company directors. 

This role sits within a team of 3 people and whilst management experience would be ideal, it is not imperative. You will be working closely with other managers to optimise the overall efficiency of the workplace. You will uphold a high standard of quality and ensure the business adheres to OH&S requirements.

The nitty gritty detail of this role

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the business.
• Provide leadership and coaching to warehouse and dispatch teams in your responsibility. 
• Manage, monitor, and optimise stock holdings and maintain stock integrity. 
• Manage overseas stock orders and monitor imports and relevant shipping. 
• Management of landed costs of import shipments. 
• Work collaboratively with sales team and suppliers to ensure stocking levels, weekly dispatch, and monthly reporting is accurate (DIFOT) 
• Work with overseas and local suppliers to optimise product costs.
• Ensure operational performance measures are robust, aligned and driving the businesses objectives.
• Manage warehousing and logistic centres to be efficient, safe and productive places for our warehouse team. 
• Ensure business complies with OH&S requirements.
• Manage and monitor production and project timelines.
• Develop, maintain, and improve internal processes and policies in line with regulatory requirements.
• Drive excellence, improvement and growth by coaching and developing team members.
• Provide timely and relevant reporting to leadership team and or directors as required. 

About you

• Previous experience working at an operations leadership level - would be preferred and ideal (production manager, manufacturing manager, site operations manager etc).
• A strong competency and confidence in analytics and numbers. 
• Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
• Previous experience with logistics/supply chain management.
• A strategic focus and ability to efficiently plan and execute projects.
• A strong desire to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving capabilities.
• A high level of commitment to quality systems, with demonstrated success in establishing a strong quality and safety culture.
• Ability to analyse, interpret and utilise data and other information sources to improve operations.
• Strong written, oral and numerical skills.
