About the role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to join our team at our Auckland Branch during the afternoon and night time shift. Reporting to the Auckland Branch Manager, your key objectives will provide structure, support and continuous improvement across all areas of the operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage day-to-day transport operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of chilled and frozen goods.
• Oversee a team of supervisors, drivers, dispatchers, and other operational staff, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
• Develop and implement operational process and strategies to optimise routes, minimise costs, and enhance overall efficiencies.
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless transportation operations.
• Monitor and maintain compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Analyse data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the operations team.

Key Attributes:

• 2-4 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in transportation or logistics.
• Proven track record of effectively managing people and resources to achieve operational goals.
• Strong understanding of transportation processes and operations, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Proficiency in MS Office and transportation management systems (TMS) is preferred.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
