About the Role   
This role reports to the Senior Manager – Ops Process and Change and plays a pivotal part in leading enterprise-level operational integration and change strategy across multiple programmes, with primary responsibility for managing Baggage Handling System (BHS) change processes and driving system-wide improvements. You’ll work across the business to translate enterprise ambition into operational reality—uplifting readiness, resilience, efficiency, and customer experience at scale. 
  

Your key responsibilities are:  

• Provide strategic leadership of BHS change processes, setting direction, shaping priorities, and ensuring improvements uplift operational performance across the enterprise. 

• Champion transformation across infrastructure, digital, and service delivery programmes, ensuring BHS optimization and considerations are represented in all major decisions. 

• Design future operating models that enhance resilience, compliance, and customer experience at scale  

• Oversee programme implementation, ensuring readiness planning, risk mitigation, SOPs, and smooth transition to BAU  

• Introducing new operational processes and deliver end-to-end change management across multiple long-term programmes, balancing delivery milestones with day-of-operation continuity.  

• Navigating complex stakeholder environments, aligning internal teams, external partners, airlines, and government agencies to achieve shared outcomes under tight timeframes.  

• Represent operational priorities in governance forums, managing performance and risk tradeoffs transparently  

• Build organisational capability by mentoring SMEs, uplifting frontline teams, and embedding integration maturity

To ensure your success in this role, you will need:  

• Degree or equivalent practical experience in Operations Management, Project Management, or related field   

• Proven experience in BHS change and process improvement projects 

• Certification or equivalent practical knowledge in Change and Transformation Management   

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in complex operational environments at a Senior level, in Aviation 

• Demonstrated leadership of operational change, project and process integration across multi-year programmes  

• Proven experience navigating complex operational change in collaboration with union partners, ensuring alignment, transparency, and constructive engagement throughout the change journey.  

• Demonstrated experience influencing at senior levels and navigating unionised environments.  

• Strong knowledge of operational readiness frameworks and service transition to BAU  

• Experience in risk management, operational resilience, and performance improvement initiatives  

• Ability to interpret data and analytics and identify opportunities and trends to influence best outcomes for the business, stakeholders and customers
