Operations Supervisor

We are seeking a well-rounded, adaptable, and experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team in Huntly. You will be someone who has transport and operational experience working with both internal and external customers and have the nous to work with drivers as well. Trucks, routing, and operations will be familiar to you, and you will flourish in a fast-paced environment. 

As part of this dynamic team, you will have effective communication skills combined with strong and positive supervisory skills while providing outstanding leadership to the team. As part of your role, you will be comfortable monitoring drivers’ daily tasks; route optimisation; overseeing efficiency of operational processes; analysing and reporting and managing costs. The Operations Supervisor will also be responsible for leading and coaching a small team at our transfer station.

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

• 3 - 5 years’ experience in operations and/or the transport industry.
• Proven previous people management experience in a similar field or environment.
• Self-motivated and works to strict deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication is a must.
• Excellent computer and Administration skills. 
• Proven problem-solving skills.
• Strong relationship builder and team player.
• Route optimisation experience will be an advantage.
• Sound knowledge of health and safety related to the transport industry.
• Knowledge & Experience of the NZ Land Transport rules and regulations relating to driver log books and legal work hours.
• Relevant qualification in Business, Logistics or related field is preferable.
