Our Wellington branch is looking for an experienced Operations Support to join our team. 
 
Responsibilities

  • Check for complete and accurate registration of Consols, Shipments and Jobs in our operational system and register when required
  • Send Import Pre-alerts to consignees and external brokers 
  • Send Export booking confirmation to shipper / supplier 
  • Report Import Cargo arrival to Customs as required by local legislative requirements
  • Expedite Export customs clearance and security formalities in line with local legislative requirements
  • Confirm shipped on board/uplift and initiate tracking/tracing of cargo and reporting to stakeholders of any missing/delayed cargo
  • Liaise with Carrier upon arrival; collect relevant shipping documents scanning them into eDocs in EDI
  • Liaise with suppliers (agents, carriers, overseas agents) regarding any delays or issues and updating relevant parties promptly
  • Ensure customer and agent invoicing and financial cost processing (local, overseas, commissions), are completed within the required time frames and in accordance with the company’s Global business objectives
  • Arrange movement of cargo back to warehouse for deconsolidation and delivery of goods to Customer
  • Provide customers with pick-up and delivery information and ensuring speedy response to clients’ needs (internal/external) 
  • Other import and export duties including quoting ad-hoc freight rates 

Requirements

  • Similar import and export operations experience gained within international freight forwarding 
  • Sound CW1 system experience preferred
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing 
  • A problem solver with a customer service driven attitude and ability to find efficient solutions for the customer 
  • Highly motivated, proactive attitude, taking preventive actions with the goal of customer retention
  • Co-operative working style, informing internal stakeholders/departments pro-actively
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients
  • Time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to work under pressure.
